Since her creation back in the fall of 2003, Launa Moon Viander (now Launa Viander) was originally suppose to be the embodiment of the spirit of Halloween: witches, trickery, a good scare and the many levels of mischief one can cause in a single night. With that, the black cat has always been one of the key symbols of the holiday both in commercial and historical contexts. Combined that with the love of female muscle and Launa Viander is born. But this wasn't going to be the case of the fandom that she was going to be a mere furry. No. She was going to be originally a human who fell under the trap of a mean and bitter witch from another world who keeps a lot of black cats that are actually the imprisoned souls of the victims that mess with her for various, sometimes petty reasons. Long story short, Lillian(Launa) got caught up messing with her with her tricks, gets changed halfway into a cat, got mad, got even, destroyed the witch and Lillian now has a library of spells, potions and other paraphernalia at her disposal and the rest is history.

However, for the sake of argument, there are some parts of Launa that have not been reached and other parts that really are for the sake of fun. That's the fact that if you give a undisciplined, trouble-making prankster power, she will use it without restraint and without deeper consequence other than herself. This leads to some periods in her lifetime where she can be very devious, cruel, mean-spirited and an outright cold-hearted bitch. This is why in Launa Viander: Trickster's Retribution will explore the cases before and after her stint with her ex-husband and mortal enemy Coyote, Launa wasn't always the nice, kid-friendly, heroic figure she made herself out to be. Instead this will dive into  the instances where Launa has been cruel, mean and outright dangerous when not a self-proclaimed "trickster goddess".

Throughout the month of October, thirty-one stories of these exploits will show just that about her. Armed with magic, metal and muscle, Launa is a woman who is more brutal sorceress than trickster. Of course, she's formally human so it comes with the territory. She can use her magic to savagely punish fiends and foes alike but that is only three-fourths of the time, knowing full well she's a large, muscular female, her fists can do the talking. Launa is the woman no mortal or being should mess with, ever! Breaking continuity, Launa will appear in her true form throughout the series only going into one of her "guises" out of the need of the story. Another element is that for each story, there will be a snippet of an even larger story leading up to the final one which will show total brutality to the monstrous souls who committed an unspeakable act, provoking the trickster goddess to commit a massive swath of death and destruction across the European continent.
