Chronicles of a Trickster

2. Pushing Immortality

When it comes to a magic yielding former human, there are always elements out there that will try to push the limits of that one ability that is described mostly as a double edged sword: Immortality. The mythological ability that a being possess that you can never die no matter how many times they kill, poison, shoot, burn or do what ever your adversary's sick little mind can concoct. Most immortals that roam free in the mortal world often do their best to adapt to the ever-changing times that surround them, avoid being shields or fodder unless it's absolutely necessary but for Launa it's totally the opposite.

It was one night ago over the city of Amsterdam in her native nation of The Netherlands The mistress steps out of the shower in her high-rise apartment complex. Large, two floor setup made for the most prestiged elite, Launa got hers through her collected wealth and business ventures of the past and present all made for her to survive into the modern world of the present. Walking up to a full body mirror, she opened up her large towel to reveal her incredible physique, She felt unmoved in how huge and powerful her body is, every bulky sinew tensed and bulged without effort, from the broad, tense deltoids, large powerful pectoral muscles she can hardly see underneath her heaving yet firm bustline, the bulky, sleeve-defying arms and biceps, perfect, washboard abdominal muscles to the tree trunk legs that gives her power in hear leap and kicking attacks, a real product to her hard training combined with natural assistance from her former friend and trainer centuries ago.

However, the self-examination of her mighty physique wasn't her main focus; it was on her right knee. Hidden underneath the obsidian coat lies a noticeable scar which holds a lot of memories as it was the last marking she will ever bare as mortal before that fateful night. She became what she is now. Thinking back it was when she was eight wearing drabby clothing fitting for the setting of Europe in the 1100's while playing with the other children, she scrapped her knee and was tend to by her mother like any caring parent would and was back to her normal games. Looking at herself today she actually missed the pain of humanity, but now under her cursed state, her inhuman body is rendered immaculate to cuts, trauma, injuries and disease. Which gives the scar on her knee a full perspective of what she has went through now as an immortal.

It was 400 years ago before she met her trainer, her bod was actually the same as an fully bloomed human woman with well firmed body tones and a matching bosom. Launa, Formally known as Lillian mastered the art of taking on different guises or forms and one of them was of a beautiful, fair, blonde maiden in the renaissance and was free to play her little "games". At first it was funny to make an entire wine cellar set that every bottle would go ultra sour the moment was opened. A typical rookie trick but it was enough to get her off into a hysterical fit. Too bad for her it didn't leave her much to pay attention to a runaway horse cart with a spooked horse running down the hill. The last image she will see will be of her colliding with the horse dead on.

Dizzy from the impact she wakes up in a strange dark room feeling totally indifferent until she looked at her mangled right arm and nearly went hysterical at the deep pinch made right across her midsection; a result of the cartwheels running right over her. Her body soon reacted and began to heal itself fully, her shattered arm returned to it's original structure, the bruises that riddled her body returned to their original fair pale tone and arched back and reeled back in pain when her pinched down abdomen filled itself back up. It was the first time her immortality also entitled incredible self-healing abilities in what could be the most excruciating thirty seconds in her life. When the morgue guard came into the dark room, Lillian didn't take no time in casting her spell to freeze the guard in place and later wiping out his memory of her escape.

This experience would not be the last Lillian will experience this new ability for in future encounters more and more situations that would turn even the most toughest into paste. Up until the present day she has been, shot by muskets to high-powered sniper bullets, burned at the stake to scorched by napalm, crushed by boulders, slammed by trucks, irradiated beyond lethal levels, mauled by the great beasts and even been torn apart by demons often unleashed by her enemies. But in those times her body manages to regrow, fix up and repair damages no matter how extreme back to its original sate and appear like it has never happened. Her body immaculate from those damages and the only thing she had to show for it was that tiny scar on her right knee.

Fully dressed up in a two-piece pajama set she was ready to turn in for the night awaiting for what the next day might bring for her, as she passes by the hallway she decides to take a look outside over the city to gaze at the cityscape and feel the cool breeze all to take in until that moment shattered with the sharp sound of a large survival dagger flying into her skull. Falling back from the force of the dagger, the large black cat looses her footing and crashes backwards onto a coffee table bleeding heavily from her massive head wound. Out from the window a snaggy-toothed green demon walks in to gaze at his latest prize, as he walked in closer he gazed at the great onyx body with its muscles showing through the soft fabric slowly stained her own blood. Looking at such a sight the demon had begun to have other ideas of what to do with his bounty as he lays over her and just about he was about to give a unresisting kiss, a large hand grabbed him by his throat, Launa got up with one furious eye open and slowly gets up with a feral snarl on her face.

The demon panicked and tried to pull out his gun to shoot her down but she grabbed the gun with her other hand and crushed the metal along with his and like it was thin paper. Slamming him against the wall he pleaded to spare his life and tell him he was hired by a rival sorcerer to take her down she can easily tell who it was because he reeks of the scent of her rival. Launa wanted no more pleasure than to do away with his assassin, but her fury turned into sympathy for a brief moment she tells him that it wasn't his fault that he chose to accept such a dangerous mission, and smiled happily when the demon asked what she said translated into letting him go, Launa replied with a sarcastic no and roared as the last image he saw was a large black fist hitting his face and his skull exploding like a ripe watermelon under a mallet and the fist crashing into the concrete and making a small cracked crater. Removing the fist the body of the demon hanged lifeless from the impact. But that was none of her concern anymore as she grabbed the dagger and pulled it out of her head and let the healing began she'll only see out of one eye until morning, with the dagger in her hand while the other is dripping with blood, she throws the dagger away into her weapons room along with all the other tools that were used against her.

With no time to take another shower again growing groggy from the experience she stretched out and let her muscles flex, adding tension to the fabric of her stained pajamas and showing off the details right before releasing and walking off into the bedroom. A long day of games and those moments to reminisce has ended and this brief stint proves that many can push her immortality, but no one should ever push her away from getting a good night's sleep. Walking through the doorway, Launa closes the door behind her letting the small shock be enough to loosen the dead, hanging body to finally land on the ground with a thud. Launa lies down on the soft linens letting her heavy body be taken into the soft sheets and straining bedsprings, with one last look at her room, closes her one good eye and drifts saliently into a deep sleep.
Well here's the second installment, totally different from the first and tells about her first time of what her form also endowed her other than her immortality and what she does to assassin demons her try to get in the way of her sleep.

Enjoy

So she used to be a woman named Lillian huh? And taking that all into account, present day... Launa must be over at least 700+ years old! By gods! Again, I can't stress enough about the commas but it seems years ago before I could even begin to fathom and realize your existence, you manage to remedy that just a little bit. And, as I've said before, Launa is a cruel temptress.

She seems like a more blunt woman in these stories than she usually is. I'm glad she can still appreciate the simple things in life and not let her strength corrupt her judgement completely than it already is with surviving about 400 years of watching the world evolve around her, acting as a catalyst to time's trials itself. Immortality is complex, and those who master living with it, deserves my upmost respect.

I also love how you show Launa isn't exactly too invincible here. She got punctured quite easily by that knife.. but, fairly enough, only because she didn't see it coming. So a surprise attack would be the most logical option.

Ahh... but Launa, you tend to surprise me more times than I can count.

9/10.
